Is college still worth it?

It’s a fair question these days — especially given the overwhelming costs of obtaining higher education coupled with the record high number of unemployed college graduates.

The infographic below has some great stats related to debt incurred vs. future earnings (the longstanding justification for going into debt over the pursuit of a college degree).

But for me, the biggest takeaway from all of the information provided below is the wisdom that could be gleaned by current college students in the pop-out box related to what grads would do differently if they were to do it all over again:

75% of college grads said they would do something different if they could start college all over again.

48% would have been more careful about their choice of major.

47% would have done more internships or worked part-time.

38% would have started looking for work sooner before finishing college.

And of course, it’s worth noting that this infographic says little about all of the ways a student might grow and develop (the potential to move towards adulthood and a more mature and informed faith that shapes the rest of one’s life)… Nor does it mention a student’s pursuit of meaning and purpose and work that makes a difference in the world.

Nonetheless, read through the infographic below and decide for yourself:
